Born in Portland, Oregon, I spent a lot of my early years growing up in the northwest before moving down to Tucson, AZ. Fortunately, I was able to find my way back to the rainy region I love so much.
“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”
— Andy Warhol
Originally my focus at UW was Law Economics and Public Policy, until I discovered my love for photography. Switching my major to Media and Communications where I started to feel like I belonged, truly enjoying my classes. An old friend of mine from Tucson was living in Seattle now and I reached out. He ended up introducing me to a Tacoma group of hip-hop artists, BADYOSHI. Immediately they were headed off to WSU for a Spring Fest performance with Joey Badass and KYLE. They invited me and I wanted to get involved with my new found passion for photography.
I was awful at first, but I quickly learned and grew with them, attending more and more shows, until I met one of the head people from Respect My Region a local online-only publication that offered me many more opportunities in the hip-hop and cannabis industry. They also provided me with a creative outlet for my writing skills as I started doing photojournalism. I have since focused more on honing my photography skills, constantly improving and growing.
